The waters around Royal Akarana Yacht Club (RAYC) in Ōrākei were alive with action from Wednesday 25th to Friday 27th March as teams competed in the Yachting Teams Racing Regatta.

The sailing days brought a wide range of conditions, testing sailors’ adaptability and resilience. Wednesday saw strong winds, providing challenging but exciting racing conditions. Unfortunately, Thursday’s racing had to be cancelled due to unfavourable weather. Friday then presented a complete contrast, beginning with very light winds. Despite the constantly changing conditions throughout the regatta, the sailors did an outstanding job adjusting and competing with great skill and determination.

A massive thank you to the team at Royal Akarana Yacht Club for hosting and running the event. Your continued support and organisation are invaluable without it, this regatta would not be possible.
