On Sunday the 22nd of March we held our Premier Water Polo finals at St Cuthbert’s College. It was a great night of Water Polo, with awesome displays of school spirit during both our girls and boys finals.
We began with our Premier Girls 3rd v 4th play off, which was a nail-biting match between Epsom Girls Grammar School and Rangitoto College. Epsom Girls Grammar coming out on top with a 5-4 victory.
St Cuthbert’s College and Diocesan School for Girls then battled it out in the Premier Girls gold medal match. St Cuthbert’s College successfully defending their title with a 7-6 win over Diocesan.
The Premier Boys Gold medal match followed, featuring Sacred Heart College and King’s College. With strong support from both of their student sections, they went goal for goal in the first half. Scared Heart pulling away in the second half securing a 14-10 victory.
We finished our Premier finals with our Premier Boys 3rd v 4th playoff between Westlake Boys High School and Rosmini College. This was an awesome game to end our Premier season, where Westlake Boys High School secured a cool 10-6 victory over Rosmini College.
A big thank you to Fabian and the referees from Auckland Water Polo for all your hard work this season! Also, a big thank you to St Cuthbert’s College for hosting our Premier fiinals as well as our regular season games each week, along with Diocesan School for Girls, Sacred Heart College, King’s College, Epsom Girls Grammar School and the National Aquatic Centre.
