On Friday 5th September, the highly anticipated Football Boys Knockout Cup Finals were held at Western Springs AFC. Four schools competed in this exciting season finale: Saint Kentigern College, Northcote College, Auckland Grammar School, and Sacred Heart College.

13th Grade Final

Saint Kentigern College 5 – 2 Northcote College
The day kicked off with a high-energy match between Saint Kentigern and Northcote. Saint Kentigern came out strong, dominating the game with five impressive goals. Northcote showed resilience and managed to net two of their own, but it wasn’t enough to stop Saint Kentigern College from taking the title.

15th Grade Final

Auckland Grammar School 6 – 0 Saint Kentigern College
Auckland Grammar showcased exceptional form in the 15th Grade final, securing a 6–0 win against Saint Kentigern College. Despite the scoreline, Saint Kentigern played with determination and spirit throughout the match. Auckland Grammar’s sharp passing and composed finishing made the difference on the day, reflecting the strength of their squad.

Senior Grade Final

Saint Kentigern College 3 – 0 Sacred Heart College
The final match of the day saw Saint Kentigern and Sacred Heart go head-to-head in a tightly contested Senior Grade final. Saint Kentigern held their composure and capitalized on key moments to score three times, sealing a well-earned 3–0 win and capping off a successful day for the school.

It was a fantastic day of football, filled with skill, sportsmanship, and school pride. A huge thank you to Bridget and her team of referees from NRF, and to Western Springs AFC for hosting us at their venue.
